The Site
Camp Patriot's priority one site would be located in the Kootenai National Forest in northwestern Montana along side Lake Koocanusa. Lake Koocanusa is located just 17 miles northeast of Libby, Montana and stretches over 90 miles north into Canada. Libby Dam creates this deep clear mountain lake which is fed from glacial streams and the Kootenai River. The Kootenai River and Lake Koocanusa are home to beautiful native trout and has produced a record 34 pound rainbow trout. Below Libby Dam, anglers have found an abundant supply of kookanee salmon. Camp Patriot would occupy approximately 200 acres of beautiful forested land, adjacent to Lake Koocanusa.
